About me
I have spent 32 years working as a lipspeaker, providing access to deaf clients who lipread, here and abroad. My work, and the incredible people I support, have taken me from the bowels of a ship to the top floor of the Shard, from factory floors to courts and foreign embassies whilst navigating the joys and challenges inherent in our work and relationships. My experience informs my work both as a tutor of those in training to become lipspeakers and also, having completed the Diploma in Supervision with Iron Mill College, in one-to-one supervision for lipspeakers and those in allied professions, such as interpreters.
In supervision we work together to create and develop a relationship based on trust and a space which is safe and confidential where you can delve into, and reflect on, your practice and everything around it. As your supervisor I am there to guide, support, ask questions and enable you; the time and space are yours to use as you wish. For example, you may want to: be listened to; celebrate your success; learn from experience; note any patterns of behaviour or recurring themes and decide what you want to do about them; take a look at decisions you’ve made; investigate potential tools and strategies for future use.
I offer an initial consultation free of charge so that we can explore together what you are looking for and how supervision can work for you. Contact me using the form below for more information.
